The story of Knock Co. Mayo began on 21st of August 1879.Fifteen people ranging in age from 5 years to 74 years from Knock village and the surrounding area witnessed an apparition of The Virgin Mary Which lasted for 2 hours. A visit to Knock and it’s beautiful museum is a perfect way to learn the whole story of the apparition and the way of life led by local country people at that time.
