The Association of Eircom Pensioners (AOEP) is the largest Association that represents the interests of all categories of retired Eircom staff. The AOEP is the only Association that represent Eir Group Pensioners exclusively. Membership is open to all Eir, Eircom, Telecom Eireann and Dept of Post & Telegraphs pensioners, deferred pensioners including widowed spouses from all levels of the company.
The Committee of the Association meet in the offices of the eircom Superannuation Division six times per year and hold an Annual Meeting in the eircom Head Office, 1 Heuston South Quarter. St. John’s Road, Dublin 8 in March/April of each year to which all members are formally invited.
The Officers and committee members are elected at the annual meeting. Approximately half the committee members are from Dublin and half from the Provinces.
The committee officers advise on such matters as taxation, social protection issues, welfare, security, pensions etc., and will make representations such as pre-budget submissions as well as representations to various Government Departments on resolutions passed at our Annual Meeting.
The Officers and Committee members are themselves eircom pensioners and work in a voluntary capacity. An annual membership subscription of €5 covers the printing and postage costs of our news bulletins and the maintenance of our website – www.aoep.ie
